Technotics
Projects: For a Fortune 500 Consumer Food Corporation
This Camden,
New Jersey based consumer food company wanted to provide worldwide
access to email from anywhere without sacrificing security
or functionality. They
also wanted to move to the most recent release of Notes and Domino
to provide their users with the latest the technology can offer.
Technotics
first concern was to provide secure VPN access to their email
system from the Internet to Domino Web Access. One of our principal
consultants and Vice President, Rob Axelrod,
investigated vendor capabilities and recommended a solution from
Whale Communications.
Rob
worked with Whale and the client to develop a customized system
that satisfied vital security requirements while still providing
ease of use and an an uncomplicated way of accessing the email
system.
Rob
implemented a security appliance called the Whale e-Gap
Solution for IBM-Lotus Environments in strategic locations
in the US, Australia, Belgium, and the UK. Rob traveled around
the world, personally configuring and implementing the devices
and educating local IT support teams in the care and feeding of
the systems.
Rob
also designed the Lotus Domino Web Access architecture and managed
the project to roll out the server infrastructure.
Rob
also managed the Notes client upgrade to Release 6 with assistance
from the Automated Deployment Toolkit (ADT).
This is an automated, managed process for deploying, upgrading
or migrating an existing messaging system to Notes R5 and Notes
6 which was developed by Wolcott
Systems Group.
The
project delivered on time and on budget. Corporate users can now
access their email securely from anywhere in the world.
